Traralgon (Kosciuszko Street) Primary School endeavors to provide engaging, safe and individualised learning opportunities for all students. Staff are committed to ongoing improvement and strive for excellence in teaching and learning at every level. The gradual release of responsibility framework (Fisher & Frey) is utilized by our dedicated staff to facilitate the delivery of lessons which build student knowledge and skills. Teachers work closely together in professional learning teams to plan curriculum and teaching sequences. This collaborative work ensures consistency of approach in lesson delivery and student expectations.
Promotion of positive behaviours which link to the school values of Responsibility, Respect, Resilience and Readiness is undertaken. School wide expectations for behaviours have been identified and included as part of the teaching program. All members of the school community work collaboratively to assist students to develop essential knowledge, skills and attitudes.
Our school is set amongst attractive and spacious grounds with extensive outdoor playing areas. Classrooms are well resourced and staff create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for learning. We acknowledge student voice and leadership throughout the school and have a range of opportunities for students to provide input. At Kossie we develop close partnerships with our students and their families.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend our assembly. Kosciuszko Primary School conducts assemblies to bring the students, staff and parents together to communicate upcoming events and to recognise pupil achievements. These assemblies are held in the Kossie Stadium onFriday afternoons at 3.00pm.. Senior students with teacher assistance, conduct this assembly.

The School Bus Program is an extensive school bus network that provides free travel to eligible students. Students must be attending government and non-government schools and living in rural and regional Victoria. Students deemed ineligible to travel for free may access a school bus service upon payment of a fare, provided there is space available on the bus.
All new families seeking access to School Bus Program service for the first time will need to register on the Public Transpor Victoria School Bus Management System. Please refer to the School Bus Program policy for detailed eligibility and application policy.
